Who it is for

Is this the right support for you?

  • Homeowners approaching completion of building work
  • Landlords and investors taking handover of refurbished property
  • Clients unsure what information they should receive at the end

Problems it helps avoid

  • Snags listed vaguely, so nobody agrees what was meant
  • Final payment released before defects are closed
  • Missing certificates, warranties or manuals
  • No record of who is responsible for each item

What you receive

Clear, practical deliverables.

James leads snagging and close-out, with an eye for workmanship, sequencing and what should be in place at completion.

  • Photographic snag list with location, description and responsibility
  • Re-inspection and close-out status tracking
  • Handover checklist covering certificates, warranties and manuals
  • Agreed aftercare actions recorded

How we work

A proportionate, straightforward process.

  1. 01

    Inspect

A planned visit to record visible snags clearly with photographs.

  2. 02

    Issue

Share a clear list with the builder, with responsibilities.

  3. 03

    Re-check

Track items to close-out, re-inspecting where agreed.

  4. 04

    Hand over

Collect handover information before final payment.

CJ Projects is an independent consultancy. We are not the building contractor, architect, solicitor or surveyor, and we do not provide legal advice.

Common questions

Is a snagging inspection a structural survey?

No. It records visible defects and incomplete work. It is not a structural survey, and some issues may only become apparent later.

When should snagging happen?

Ideally before practical completion is agreed and before final payment, with enough time for the builder to put items right.
