How we handle personal information when you contact us or use this website.
Last updated: 25 September 2026.
CJ PROJECTS CONSULTANCY LIMITED (company number 17414872, based at Cambridge Road, Aldershot, GU11 3JY) is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean CJ Projects Consultancy.
Information we collect
When you use the enquiry form or the Builder Quote Check form on this website, the details you enter are submitted to us and stored securely by our website hosting and database provider so we can respond. This typically includes your name, email address, any telephone number you give, your project location, project type, approximate budget, the kind of help you are looking for and your message. The Builder Quote Check form also collects a short project description, your preferred discussion method and the quotations, drawings or scope documents you upload. Uploaded files are kept in private storage and are not publicly accessible.
We also receive the information you choose to share when you contact us by email, telephone or WhatsApp.
We do not knowingly collect special category data and ask that you do not send it to us. If analytics cookies are switched on in future and you consent to them, limited technical and usage information about your visit would also be collected (see Cookies and analytics below).
Why we use it, and our lawful bases
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, to provide a quotation or proposal, to carry out consultancy services you appoint us for, to keep project and business records, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Our lawful bases are: steps taken at your request before entering a contract, and performance of a contract, where you engage us; our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running our business; legal obligation for records we are required to keep; and consent for non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it is necessary: with people involved in your project where you have asked us to act (for example issuing a tender enquiry to contractors on your behalf), with our professional advisers, and with service providers that operate our email and business systems and this website. Providers act on our instructions under appropriate terms.
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
Enquiries and uploaded quotations that do not lead to an appointment are kept only as long as needed to deal with them and for a short period afterwards, normally up to twelve months. Records relating to client projects are kept for the period necessary to deal with the project, any subsequent questions or claims, and our legal and accounting obligations. We review and delete information that is no longer needed.
Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies and similar storage needed to make the site work and to remember your cookie choice. Analytics cookies are not used unless you accept them in the cookie banner, and no analytics script is loaded before that. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie preferences link in the footer, or by clearing your browser storage for this site.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including access controls on our systems and devices and limiting access to those who need it. No method of transmission over the internet, including email, is completely secure; please consider this before sending sensitive documents.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to be informed, to access your personal information, to have inaccurate information corrected, and, in some circumstances, to erasure, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier processing.
To exercise a right, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the time limits set by law and may need to confirm your identity first.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority, through the ICO complaints service.
